Christmas is our favorite time of the year for so many reasons. And now that we have children the Spirit of Christmas (which never left Eric & I ~ WE ARE STILL BELIEVERS) is growing even stronger. As I approach my last month of maternity leave I have decided to include some Christmas Cheer in as many days as I can. I'll try and document as many as possible...let's enjoy this ride together!
December 1st {24 Days till Santa Comes}
{1}Today Ashlyn and I put the Christmas Lights on the tree. Daddy had to work mandatory OT tonight so it became a "girl" event. (Colton was taking a nap) Ashlyn helped pull the lights out of the light caddy. Her eyes glistened when I plugged the lights in for the first time. She watched me open the ornament box and I wish I would have counted how many times she said "pretty" Let's see how long these ornaments last. Michelene told me about some shatter proof bulbs (kid save ornaments) I need to get some in RED and SILVER. May favorite colors on my tree!

one of my favorite ornaments... eric and i bought this in minnesota when we went in december 2001 to watch our vikings play. it was that best trip... 8 1/2 years later...our dreams have come true!
{2}Auntie J, Javona bought Ashlyn her first Advent Calender. The one with the candy inside. Today was our first day. I could not believe it but she did not insist on opening more than one door... I thought for sure she would! We will see tomorrow! " )
{3}Auntie Ash, Ashley, came over today to help me watch the kiddos while I did some of the outside decorations. This is so late for us to be getting started... usually almost everything is up day after Thanksgiving... not this year. Eric has been so busy working & coaching FOOTBALL!!! Yep next Saturday night we play Pittsburgh in the 3rd round of the playoffs. This is such an accomplishment. I am so proud of the team & mostly the coaches (4 of which I am related) haha! So back to the outside decorations. I told Eric today that it is Dec. 1st and it would break my rules if I at least did not have the house lights up. I managed to get the icicle light up around the house, our little trees up, our {new} waving Santa, and organized all the extension cords & got the grass decorations ready for tomorrow when Eric & I are going to decorated together! Yeah can't wait... probably have to do some of it at night once the kiddos go to bed. Really night decorating works then you know exactly where to place the lights!

PS: Sorry for the inconsistency in the photos... I am having a blast playing with all my camera settings... Trying to learn & teach myself!
