right now i am scanning pictures for my SIL wedding video slideshow... awe so fun! It is making me think about my first ever and most recent pics I've taken with (just) Eric.

here is our first ever pic... in Yosemite July 2001
(sorry picture of a picture) my scanner is being used at the moment... and it is not the exact one i wanted but it will do...

and our most recent....well I'll show you in a bit... we took family pics last friday with Krista and I was so excited she took a few of just Eric and I. I am dying to see them....can't wait to see the difference! haha!

Ever since last Friday night and talking those pics... We need to remember when we started and that we are the reason for this beautiful crazy busy life! Our two beautiful children are a product of our love! I am so happy to have this crazy amazing life. But only because I have my best friend by my side. Love you babe!

1981 Rocking Horse

Since I have not blogged in such a long time I really need to organize my photos and find a place to start... I'd like to start with a something that I thought about last night (September 20th)

I was folding laundry after I had cleaned up from dinner last night, Eric was at work, Music was playing, Kids were noisy playing together, Whining to each other, Talking/Screaming/Tattling/Talking/ Screaming, Bugging each other; you know the usual brother/sister sibling stuff...at one point they were both riding MY ROCKING HORSE. I was listening to the wood clicking on the tile floor as the horse rocked back and forth. It was weird because the sound brought me back to the days when I rode that horse with my dog Cinder by my side. I loved watching the kids with their full grins and I loved listening to their laughter as they were enjoying MY ROCKING HORSE. I love that my parents saved the Rocking Horse my grammie made for me when I was 1! I love that I get to share it with them!

I took a moment to watch them and pause to create a memory that I would have in my heart forever... Which reminds me I need to get some pictures of the kiddos on this rocking horse!

xoxo

wow... long time no write~

Wow I just looked and I can not believe that it has been this long since I blogged... Something I enjoy so much but have not made a priority to make sure I complete... I hope this is the beginning of the first post of many. If I went backwards you would think I am a crazy person how busy we have been... maybe I will highlight the important things!

Anyway if you are still a follower... or silent follower... come back. Once I get kiddos to bed tonight I'll try and schedule a few posts. And stay tuned we just took professional pics with Krista Lund Photography.. cant wait to see them and show you my sneak peek!

Images from KRISTA LUND...Ashlyn 2yrs3mo & Colton 9mo

Thank you Krista Lund for these amazing images! We took these back in June of 2010. Yes I know a long time ago. But by the time I was ready to order them we had moved out of our house. So Krista and I decided that I would wait to see what walls I wanted them on in our new home....
I just placed my order this week and I am sooooo excited to put them up. But i decided I would share them with you first! Enjoy! Ps: Check out Krista's website she has some very cool summer beach sessions set up for August and space is limited her dates are filling up fast. I think we are going to do a family shoot with sand on our tootsies! Maybe you should too!
not posed I was trying to get him happy after his sister pushed him out of the chair...
So artistic... Ashlyn looks so beautiful in this picture. Not the type of pics I would want all over my house but a few add so much versatility to your walls at home! And boy do I LOVE this one!
The last three shots you saw the RED CHAIR. Really that chair was the inspiration for these pictures. This chair belonged to Michelene's Dad, so the kids great-grandfather. I have heard so many stories about how much Grandpa Kenneth and Michelene loved this chair and now my kids do too... I had to capture it in a photo and let the legacy of this beautiful chair live on! It is one of my favorite pieces of furniture in my in-laws house...because of the history and sentimental value. I am a sap for that stuff! Maybe one day it will belong to Ashlyn or Colton and then their kids will sit in it for a picture. Would that be amazing. So as of now we have had 4 generations of children in this chair: Great Grandpa Kenneth, Grandma Michelene, Eric & now Ashlyn & Colton!

{MEAN} by taylor swift

I added this song as our first song because ever since the CMA's when taylor swift sang this it has been a repeat song in our house...it is so adorable the kids love it...yes Eric's Babies ~ a non dancer~ That had DANCING CHILDREN!!! Eric told me the other day Ashlyn asked for this song. Then he turned the corner and both kids were clapping their hands about their heads like taylor did in the performance... seriously hilarious! I tried to recreate the moment with a camera and ended up joining the kids and Eric!!! in the dance party...missed out on the pictures but created a memory!!!!

Life is so good!!!!

My first blog post in our new home!

Tonight as I sit here and type I don't even know where to begin...I have so much to journal about...I have not posted in over 2 months...So I guess I will start my first post with an update....which will probably turn into longer posts at some point.
a picture of our house if you have not seen it yet

~We are all doing great!
~We have settled into the new house very well...and with lots of much appreciated help.
~We have touched every single room in this house with some sort of paintbrush or new flooring...except 1 bathroom...seriously I know you are probably thinking we are crazy well you are right we are... but we LOVE the house and have learned many new tricks...more on that later...
~We are back in the swing of things with work and commuting. All is good right now. It takes me about an hour in the morning and Eric about 45 minutes at night. I have told myself this is part of my day and it is not bothering me.
~We listen to a lot of Glee CD's in the car to make the drive easier on the kids. (thanks papa and grandma michelene)
~We laugh a lot and cry a lot of happy tears. It is so wonderful to see the kids free and happy and running around our beautiful home that is all theirs.
~Ashlyn and Colton have been sleeping in their own rooms since we moved here...probably harder on me the first night than them. More on the rooms later.
~Eric and I have been having so much fun cooking, baking and enjoying our new kitchen. We don't have a Viking oven but it still is nice. (We are going to sell our Viking oven soon...maybe that will be our concrete patio in the backyard)
~We had Ashlyn's 3rd birthday here. It was a blast. I finally had a birthday party that I actually planned out the kid activities right. Not too much... and actually took time to do most of it (ok I miss a few things but no one noticed)
~I'm back... cause Colton's Birthday party planning has already begun... Awe throwing Ashlyn's together in only a few weeks and changing the date and moving in 3 weeks before and during a remodel... phew I can't breathe and I am typing...haha

~I finally sent out my moving cards... Which might be why you are visiting our blog...If that is so, please check back often. I am usually a regular poster! I love comments! I love sharing our crazy life with our family and friends!

Ok well it is 1:30am and I need to work tomorrow morning... Easter Party at LMP! Woo Hoo! Ashlyn helped me stuff all the plastic eggs for the hunt tomorrow...over 150... yep...before bed tonight she said, "mama, I'm so excited for the easter hunt tomorrow. Can I have all the marshmallows?" I told her that she can find a few but that I'm sure the Easter Bunny will come back on Sunday and hide some for you. She says back, "But can you tell him I want marshmallows inside please?!" Too cute...she makes me laugh every single day!

Night every one!

Stay tuned I have a ton of pictures to upload... The kids new spring pics from Jeff Firestone (he takes the pictures for LMP); some older pictures from Krista Lund that I can't wait to share (they are super sentimental; new pictures from Jana Beck of the 4 wittmer grandchildren and so many of the house remodel before and afters....

My Perfect Valentine's Day

So I have to say today has been a day of Surprises... I enjoyed every second and it is all because of my sweet hubby!

To start I want to include what my facebook post said...

Ok not such a sap for bragging about the hubby but he totally deserves it! Love that you have been my Valentine for 9 yrs couldn't imagine life without you! Thanks for all the SURPRISES they were extra special since we usually don't celebrate much. Love that we are "CUPID" together for the kids, Ashlyn's face this morning seeing all the <3 hearts <3 around was priceless! Love that we just had a dance party to Katy Perry in the middle of the Kansas basketball halftime LOVIN' LIFE! xoxo <3 Happy Valentine's everyone! xoxoxo

Like I said I am really not a bragger but since this is my blog where I keep my journal and I want to remember here it is....

So first...CUPID came to the house once the kids went to bed.

Last night was tough. Ashlyn was not feeling well so I was sleeping in her bed...good thing for Eric cause he had a whole bunch of surprises to plan... I am going to tell the story as the day came to me. Eric woke me up early and sad to be quiet cause he had made us a FULL breakfast. We were trying to get a little date in... It worked! It was a perfect way for us to begin our Valentine's Day. I felt so special. This was more than we usually did so I was excited. Unfortunately I had to leave the dishes for him cause I had to go to work. Got Ash all dressed up, she seemed to be doing a little better, and off we went with Valentine Cards for the children & teachers and Snickerdoodles for Ashlyn's class.

sorry for the grouchy face... she didnt feel well ~ but she was having fun!

When we go to school. We passed out the Valentine's for the teachers. Ash was a little clingy ~ not feeling well... Then made bags to hold their Valentine Cards...that was fun. I felt like a mommy and I don't always get to do that at work. I enjoyed my time in the classroom. So then I had to do a few on my normal responsibilities and walked into my kitchen... Saw this...

Yes OMG Eric had woken up even earlier than I had thought to make me breakfast... He came and dropped off Flowers, a balloon and this beautiful card. Ok so I thought my days was perfect before this surprises....now I feel AWESOME!
seriously funky smile from ashie...haha
love this one when the girls are looking at each other!
Ash ended up getting sick (throwing up) so I left work and brought her home. I was sad because this meant she was missing her party but I knew we had a fun day planned at home. Eric was home so I was able to see my Valentine again! Any excuse for another kiss right?

At work we had a luncheon. It was fun.

Then home to start our afternoon celebrating... Well since Ashlyn was sick she took a 4 hour nap. Colt did too not sure he feels well either. We hung out! It was nice. Then when Michelene came home we went to the grocery store we were cooking in tonight and so excited about that. Once we came home we made a delicious dinner, while we were cooking Ash, Colt and I were having a dance party to Katy Perry. I forgot to mention that it was in the middle of the Kansas halftime...haha... It was so fun! Our kids love to dance! I love it! Can't wait for Ashley & Ross' wedding.... we are going to have so much fun!
both kids in valentine's shirts and undies for ash & diaper for colt... i don't know why it just happened that way!
Colton hiding his messy face! From the jelly on our biscuits!

It was a perfect day. I felt so special. I spent time with my three favorite people. I hope Eric knows he is always my number ONE! I'd rather be with him more than anyone else in the world. I hope and pray that I will never let the hustle and bustle of life with children push that to the corner of my mind. I promise I will never let that happen. I am the luckiest girl in the world to have Eric as MY VALENTINE!

wish i knew how to edit...

I really wish I knew how to edit... But I am definitely trying.
Here are some of the Valentine's pictures I took ALL ON MY OWN...I am trying, not a pro. I had a great time playing with the kids at Shinn park in Fremont. I let them run around while I tried to capture their natural looks along with a few smiles... everyone else likes smiles...

But now I cant decide whether I like the the black and white or color version... color cause they are for Valentine's but black and white, well just cause...

Ps: I know WE ALL have adorable children. I love looking at other peoples kids too... but I LOVE my kids eyes in these pictures! Love them!

Ashlyn's last day in room One! : (

Last Friday {FEBRUARY 4th} was Ashlyn's last day in Room 1 with Miss Gloria, Miss Yuner & Mr. Fred. She had been visiting all week so when she came back for her "goodbye snack" she was acting shy. I am a little sad because I am finally realizing that my little girl is not a baby anymore. She is growing up right before my eyes. I love how caring and loving she is. She is becoming so mature. She is fully potty trained, except at night. She is able to count, recognize all her colors, shapes and a few numbers. She can spell her name. And is starting to write an "A".
She is such a creative little girl. At Preschool she loves to easle paint, sing, draw, play playdough and dig in the sand.
here is a reason for me being sad... KAYLA... I love that "the girls" are in class together. I mean how often are the moms and daughters best friends! I hope Kayla and Ash are in the same class again one day... but if not I am still glad they are in school together now.
These are memories that I will cherish forever!
Kayla & Ashlyn's cubby... last day for their share toys to be together....
We brought Mini muffins for snack. Miss Yuner was so cute she had the class clap for Ashlyn and said she was graduating from Room 1. Then they told the kids once they went potty all the time like Ash they could move up too... haha! Made me laugh!
Ashlyn was not cooperating but I was not going to miss this shot...
Mr. Freddie, Miss Yuner and Miss Gloria
Ashlyn's first preschool teachers...I have loved every minute that Ash has spent in this classroom.
Thank you!
opening their gifts...
engraved crystal apples.... here is Mr. Fred's.
I gave all three the same thing but only posting one...
My silly girl... with a monster smile... best I got... sorry

Mr. Fred: Thank you so much for finding our school. I will miss you so much when you got back to Hawaii. I will forever cherish the time that you were Ashlyn's teacher. You are amazing with the children. I feel so lucky to have had my daughter in your care! Love, Tiffany

Miss Yuner: Your kindness, attentiveness and love will never be forgotten. You are an amazing teacher. You are a perfect fit for our school. I love how easy you are to talk to. You have always made me feel so comfortable. I am sad that Ash will be next door but I know you will still hug and love on her! Thank you! Love, Tiffany

Miss Gloria: Serious, I don't even know where to begin. You have know me since I was four and now I am thanking you for teaching my daughter... how is that?! I have always dreamt of the day you would teach my children. I am so glad you have laid such an amazing foundation for Ashlyn. Mud Puddles would not be the same place without you! Love, Tiffany (your extra niece)

This sounds so silly but I actually cried when we gave them the gifts. Ugh Hello I see these teachers everyday! We work together! I just hope they know how much I have LOVED having Ashlyn in their class... Colton is next...coming summer 2011~!

Ashlyn starts in Room 2 ~ Mr. Derek's class Tuesday February 8th!

This weekend while we were in Tahoe {more pics later, having a hard time uploading right now} with Eric's family {minus Eric} I was taking a picture on my phone to send to Eric while we were saying good night...

A tear came to my eye and I said to her while I kissed her good night. Where did my baby go?
I love the kids growing up but I have to admit I miss nursing a baby to sleep... hmmm another in our future? We are definitely talking about it...

{moment mondays} #1

i have so many creative friends that have amazing blogs that inspire me so much in so many ways... so here is my own spin off from their inspiration....hopefully i am able to keep up.

{my first MOMENT MONDAY post}

Michelene and I always talk about those "moments" in life that we will never forget of our children growing up. I try an capture as many "moment pictures" whenever possible. Many times these "moments" happen without a camera around and I try and take a mental picture. So as I begin Moment Monday I am doing it to help me remember the special moments in my life that I will never & don't ever want to forget! Sometimes just pictures, sometimes just words, sometimes both. I am so excited to create a place for me to capture these "MOMENTS" in my life and hold them forever in my heart! I will probably dig out some old pictures but for my first one I am going to use a recent "moment"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Saturday was Eric's Grandmother's 80th Birthday!
