I can't believe I am late on Ashlyn's 20 Month birthday post! She is almost 2 years old and I am so sad! She is growing up too fast. I am enjoying every moment, with the exceptions of the new tantrums.
This month Ashlyn is....
wearing size 4 diapers, size 5 shoes, size 18 month clothes! My favorite brand this month is GAP! My favs are usually between Gap & Gymboree but this month Gap wins!
saying and repeating everything! so up until now i have been including a list of her new words. this is getting tough b/c she is now saying so much more. we are so proud of her and i love to be a part of her language development. so what i have decided to do instead of list words is tell a funny story about a new word....
her is the 20 month story ~ so today {the 10th} we are in monterey celebrating my birthday. we were walking cannery row and walked out to the edge of the dock to look at the waves. i say "ash look at the waves they are so beautiful" ashlyn sits up in the double stroller and waves her hand! ADORABLE huh? learning the english language must be hard. wave has too many meanings.... wave goodbye, ocean waves, and a wave of people... no wonder it is hard for kiddos to learn speech!
oh one more word...canny... meaning candy! i guess when you have a new talker in your family and it is around halloween... the word candy might be learned!
loves food! i've read in books that about this age kids start to not like the food you serve. lets keep our fingers crossed we are not having that problem yet. some new favorites> any kind of fish {although she has liked it before maybe we just have not served it in a while} but we just started trying tuna. she loved it as a snack with ritz crackers.
loves wrestle/tickle/rough house time! the best is when she says more when we stop! he laugh is the best sound ever. whenever she is in full laughter eric and i melt!
loves reading books we even catch her reading out loud to tigger and pooh every once in a while.
has really embraced pretend play this past month. loves her tea set {the easter bunny brought her last year}, loves the phone, beginning to really play with her baby dolls, likes a hammy down doll house my aunt & uncle's neighbor gave us...
this is a good time of year for her pretend play to develop just in time for christmas...I am thinking her own doll house, dress-up clothes and a mirror! love my girl!
Ashlyn has really adjusted well to being a big sister too! Eric and I were talking the other night {really commending ourselves} saying that Ash has adapted well and is not jealous. We are so happy and can't wait for them to interact more. She loves him and kisses him often. But besides a smile from Colton she is not getting much back. I am sure he is going to be a tough little boy though with a busy, rough and tough sister!
Here are some of our favorites from the month!
halloween picture! our little pirate!
in grandmas shoes
cheering on daddy's team!
love this one on the swing! so big!
loves playing with her "go baby" ghost baby
uh oh... setting up for a photo shoot!
gotta watch what we do now she love to mimic everything!
in her princess dress... loves the wings!
tickle time! which is could add her laughter as the background music... cause it sure is music to our ears!
