ASHLYN at 18 months is...
A BIG SISTER TO COLTON!!!!
and BIG COUSIN to madison!!!
what a big month it has been for her to announce her new baby brother and cousin. loves saying "my baby"
wearing size 4 diapers, 12-18 mo. clothing, and size 4 shoes/5 in her salt-waters...had to get another pair she wears those the most...
words include...(no particular order)...mama, dada, doggie, baby, "ni-night"~ our word for pacifier, more (meaning more & milk) apple, "bueberrie" ~ blueberries, banana, "ampa" ~ grandpa, ball, eyes, nose, teeth, ear, hair, "waii" ~ water and hawaii (when we are talking about auntie christy), bubble, pooh, elmo, and finally our new favorite..."i wuv you"...melts our hearts everytime!
loves food! her favorites include...the usuals...daddy's eggs & oatmeal, any type of fruit, string cheese, blueberries, rice and chicken. loves our spicy shrimp dish...we have gotten to the point where she eats everything we make. we are lucky we know! tried chinese this month...seemed to like the noodles and the honey walnut shrimp!
ashlyn learned to stand in her highchair! no fun i needed to bring the straps back!
since it has been so warm lately we have eaten most nights outside. we used to bring out the highchair until like i said earlier she started standing in it so now we just let her sit in our patio chairs. and she does really well. so funny though that an 18 month old would know which chair was hers...the other night i sat in "her chair" and she fussed and fussed until i realized it was because that was "her spot". excuse me!
still loves books. her favorites this month are anything elmo ? don't know where this came from. she does not know him from tv so i guess the books she has gotten have stuck in her mind!
loves playing with purses...many at the same time if possible. i have all my old purses and small clutches in one area and now that area is in her toy box. the other day eric said to ashlyn do you know how much money you have on your arm...1 prada, 2 coach, 1 fake coach, and 1 idunno brand!
loves her winnie the pooh and tigger stuffed animals! daddy insisted we get them...good call daddy! still loves watching tigger and pooh the show too. ashlyn now asks for it by name..."pooh" "pooh"....i once thought she was telling me she had poo-poo in her diaper and i went to change it and said there is no poo. she got off the changing table and handed me the remote control and said "pooh" "pooh". i say PRICELESS!
knows exactly when to say amen after our prayers at night. i guess repetition is good...they do get it!
is going to be an awesome water skier b/c pulling the tails of the dogs is her new entertainment...although we don't allow it and have to say no.
remember i mentioned independent in last months post...well now we like to put on our own lotion. after bath time we have a pretty good routine which now includes a squirt of lotion on both of ashlyn's hands too. oh and if you forget...she'll let you know!
throws up her arms and says "touchdown" grandpa ken wants ashlyn to do this at the football games this year. it took a while but with practice she now does it on command. another fb cheer she says is "go, go go". im working on defense since daddy is a defense coach but that is much harder for her to say.

so cute!! can't believe she is a big sister! how fun! i can't wait to see Lizzie when she's a big sis too! Wow can't believe how much Lizzie and Ashlyn have in common. Same fav foods and the two-hand squirt of lotion after baths!! Too funny! Must be a Wittmer thing :)
