**Just saw that I wrote this post but never posted it...oops**
Last week we went to Reno/Sparks, NV. {July 26-28} Eric was invited to play in the Western States Police and Fire Games. Eric met a Fresno CHP officer while playing in Vegas for the South Bay Ballers. Then he invited Eric to play on this team. "The Gunners" They are composed of mostly Fresno CHP & Fresno City officers, there are a few Corrections and one CHP Sacramento.... and then the lone Union City Officer ~my favorite player~ Eric. We met a lot of nice people and enjoyed our time in Sparks. We actually stayed in Squaw Valley, Tahoe. It was about a 45 minute drive from where Eric was playing but we thought there would be more for the kids to do there. We stayed in a beautiful room in the Squaw Village. A room that would not be affordable during the winter. It was a perfect place for us. We walked the village, went swimming at Donner Lake, and ordered in so the kiddies didn't need to sit quietly. We had a perfect gettaway. Ashlyn was awesome (not always the case lately) and Colton well he was a little fussy... he broke another tooth while we were there. But all in all PERFECT! I tried to get some action shots but it was not as easy since I was trying to keep both kids occupied. In the end Eric's team, The Gunners, took home the GOLD! It was a perfect end to a perfect week!
The Gunners after their first 2 wins!
Eric hurt his ankle after the 1st game and was worried about not being able to play anymore games... good thing for Advil and a great ankle brace!
Ashlyn was so interested in this bouncy thingey they had it set up in the middle of the village at Squaw...there was no line so Eric and I were like why not if she doesn't like it she can stop. It took a minute for her to understand the concept of actually jumping but she sure enjoyed it! What a cool experience!
I took way more video than still shots loved hearing her say...Woo Hoo! Over and over!
After we went to the park. There was something about being in the middle of the forest and on a playground... so neat!
Day 2... it was a hot one! Eric played so well!
Gooooo!!!!!
At Donner Lake... Ashlyn was singing and dancing on the shoreline...
can you say ADORABLE!
Colton figuring out if he wanted to play in the sand... He did eventually but took a few minutes to get warmed up to the texture!
Ash with Daddy!
Ash with Mommy... Colton went out too but then there was no one to take a picture cause we all went together!
Thank you "Ethan" for the measuring cups... there were some kids playing down a way with a ton of san toys and Ashlyn wanted to play with them. They were not very friendly. So I went hunting down the beach and found a set of measuring spoon with "Ethan's name" on them. Ash was completely satisfied and would have stayed there all day if we let her.
Love these two together!
On our balcony in Squaw... No I don't want a picture... I am guessing I take too many! Oops!
Day 3...let's do it... if we win this one then we clinch 1st place!
The QB didn't love that Eric was good in my opinion and didnt pass the ball much... so Eric decided to run a few punts back for touchdowns instead....haha! Love it!
Team meeting right after they won 1st... the guys decided to switch their jerseys around since they were the GOLD team now! Silly guys!
